2021 Grant Letter of Interest

Episcopal Community Services of N. California

2021-2022 Grant Cycle

Letters of Interest

In order to help your congregation make your grant application as successful as possible, we are requesting that anyone considering asking for a grant this year submit an informal Letter of Interest.  This process will help us to plan for the year, and may enable us to be able to offer ways to assist you.

The ECS Board of Directors intends these grants to reflect:

  • Ministry programs among poor and oppressed people wherever they are located.
  • Social justice ministry in the best tradition of the church.  The target populations should be individuals and communities not ordinarily included in the congregation.

A Letter of Interest for the 2021-2022 Ministry Development Fund (1 year), the Warren Dunning Memorial Social Justice Grant (3 years), or the Barry L. Beisner Multi-Year Grant (up to 5 years) should include the following:

  1.  How your ministry will focus on one or more of the following:
  1. Human rights advocacy
  2. Human service or health programs
  3. Lay leadership/empowerment program

Please identify the ministry category and describe in one paragraph your focus activity.

  1.  A description of the need for this ministry.  What do you want to accomplish?
  2.  The amount of your planned request (up to $5,000).
  3. The endorsement of your clergy in charge and your Senior Warden.

Although not mandatory for consideration of your subsequent grant application, those congregations submitting a Letter of Interest will receive priority during the grant application process.

The Letter of Interest is due by April 15, 2021.

Please email your Letter of Interest to:

bettyharrisonsmith@gmail.com Please do not send it to any other address.

We look forward with joyful anticipation to hearing from you.
